Magazine Advertising
When I first joined the company one of my first tasks was to re-brand advertisement used in fishing magazine. Sticky had used the same style adverts for quite a while and had lost its initial impact due to adverts looking very similar (although images were changed monthly, but layout/style made it look like the same advert). Advertising in the industries biggest magazines ( Carpworld, Crafty Carper, Carp-Talk, Carpology, Total Carp, Angling Times, Advanced Carp, Carp Feed,Anglers Mail) we needed to make sure adverts had the best impact for the money they cost.
Having worked in the magazine trade, I had a very good understanding of how adverts could easily stand out to enable the reader to see the [product and message. Looking through the fishing magazine industry every space is used and advertisement were general busy. I attempted to strip that back and create a clean result… almost a breath of fresh air, in a busy magazine.I Also tried bringing in a different visual not commonly seen in the industry like vector illustrations, or focusing on a products key ingredient.
